The “life tradition” and the “death tradition” are two different approaches to Jesus. The first approach is most commonly associated with focusing on the life and teachings of Jesus, the second with the death and resurrection of Jesus. Interestingly the...

Finding the way forwards
If you have realized the many problems with Christianity or are just having doubts then you are not alone. Christianity is a complex religion made up of many parts which don’t all necessarily fit together.
Gradually, the more you research them, the doctrines of Christianity can start to fall away. This isn’t necessarily a problem, as our spiritual understanding develops over time and our understanding of Christianity can change over time. What suits us at one point may no longer suit us now.
However, when too many conflicts occur or too many doctrines fall away at once the global label or belief system of the religion of Christianity can also be challenged. Leaving Christianity can be confusing, a relief or traumatic – depending on your starting point, the extent of your connections to it (mental, emotional and social) and where you go next.
Options going forwards
Atheism isn’t the only outcome when leaving Christianity. For some atheism is the initial first step when they question everything they have been taught. Others progress through more and more liberal forms of Christianity until they find one that fits, often moving again a bit later. For others, a more personal spirituality can be formed from components of other spiritual traditions. Finally, for others, there is an attempt to find what Christianity should have been if it had stuck with what Jesus himself taught, rather than what the church and Bible writers wrote about Jesus. This is difficult as it is so close to the faith you have left in terms of distance, but very far apart in terms of content.
Either way, it is possible to stay connected to God and the greater spiritual reality, even as the doctrines of Christianity fall away. This websites aims to explore these topics and provide space to explore doubts which you may find are shared by others.
Re-building the wall
But leaving is only half the picture. As doctrines fall away they are not necessarily replaced with nothing. A doctrine often falls away when something better has been found – either non-spiritual or spiritual in nature – that makes more sense or better matches spiritual or physical reality. As these new pieces fall into place a new picture can develop. In turn this picture will also be modified as understanding develops even further. The best we can do is have the best picture available to us right now.
The resources section of the website aims to help point out further avenues to explore.
The below are extracts from the blog, the full blog can be found here. They are a combination of articles on where things have likely gone wrong, as well as potential ways forward.
