Insights from Near Death Experiences

A great deal of insight can be gained from reading the accounts of people who have had Near Death Experiences (or NDEs). Key features of all of these experiences is that:

  • Your conscious self continues, irrespective of what religion you belong to, or whether you are an atheist or not
  • A spiritual realm beyond the physical realm exists
  • Other spiritual beings, including loved ones can be encountered and met

The key message that people come back with is the importance of love and the way in which we treat other people.

Jesus as a spiritual being is encountered in some NDEs, as is God as an ultimate reality experienced in some NDEs. However, the experience and message is one of unconditional love and the importance of loving other people. An angry God, concepts of original sin and the requirement of Jesus’s death to atone for sins does not feature, even where Jesus does feature.

Kingdom of Heaven teachings

The Kingdom of Heaven was the good news that Jesus preached in Matthew, Mark and Luke.  It is within and all around but we do not see it.  We can enter it now by transforming our hearts and minds – by loving, forgiving, not judging and not being anxious.  This was known as “the way”.  And when we do so everything changes. Support

Having doubts about what you one believe can be hard and those around you may not necessarily support your questions.  However, there are many others who have been through this process so you don’t have to go through this alone and support is available.
